Abstract

The article describes the experience of social mediation in working with vulnerable groups of the population of St. Petersburg in relation to the conflicts in family and household spheres (the division of property, inheritance, various addictions of family members). It is noted that the service of social mediation in the municipality has encountered certain obstacles during its initial start. Conflicts in the sphere of housing and public utilities, as well as the mediation in the organisation of round tables with the participation of the opposing sides, were discussed in detail. It was shown that social mediation significantly expands the possibilities of social work.
