Psychological features and characteristics of a healthy lifestyle of pregnant women

Abstract

The article emphasizes the importance of preserving the health of pregnant women as carriers of health of the nation. The attention is focused on the formation of the psychological security of pregnant women. The importance of psycho-prophylactic work since the fi rst months of pregnancy is noted. The data of empiri-cal research of individual psychological characteristics of pregnant women and the factors of their lifestyles is presented. The study shows that the adequate perception of social support, a high level of subjective control, and positive self-esteem, displayed by a woman during pregnancy, contribute to adequate relation to pregnancy and the desire to live a healthy lifestyle.
