The article presents a theoretical analysis of the main provisions on jealousy as an independent psychological phenomenon. Systematization of foreign and domestic studies aimed at studying the psychological characteristics of a jealous person was carried out. The conceptual apparatus and classifcations of types of jealousy are defned. The results of an independent empirical research on the study of personal characteristics of students (humanitarian faculties) with feelings of jealousy are presented.
