Teenage pregnancy as a risk factor in forming deviant motherhood

Abstract

Early involvement in sexual relationships and lack o f knowledge about contraceptive methods increase the risk o f teenage pregnancies at the age when young people are not biologically, psychologically and socially mature and these factors result in increase o f abortions. An unwanted pregnancy causes constant increase o f anxiety and development o f depression. These feelings influence negatively both a teenage mother s health and a foetus 'development and interfere with the formation of “mother s sphere”.
