Abstract

The system of social protection of the population is inseperably linked with modernization, the main results of which today are: the versatile development of social institutions, ensuring the variability of social services; stimulation of innovative activities of specialists in the social sphere. The work of social institutions in the experimental mode leads to the systematic improvement of the content and methods of providing social services, professional improvement of social specialists. From the position of this approach, the article presents the results of the experimental sites of social service institutions of St. Petersburg. The article analyzes the experience of innovative activities in the work with disabled people and children with disabilities through joint activities with St. Petersburg State Institute of Psychology and Social Work. In order to solve the problems of different categories of the population, specialists of the social sphere are required to constantly search for new, better ways of social service, the development of social technologies and programs, their introduction into the practice of social work. This work is covered in the article.
