The article discusses the structure and mechanism of empathy in details. The description of empathic process and structure of its possibilities is given. The signifi cance of separate components of empathy at different stages of its course is analyzed. The structure of empathic possibilities comprises eleven independent components: altruistic orientation, emotional activity, breadth of emotional repertoire, adaptive fl exibility of emotions, communicative tolerance, maturity of expression, ability to Sinton, observation, imagination, intuition and ability to identify.
