International social policy towards labour migration

Abstract

The article discusses causes and problems of migration based on the analysis of the literature and legal acts of the European Union and the United States. The classification and typology of migration processes, in general, and the economic (labour) migration, in particular, are studied. Key trends in the development of international and local legislation in the field of labour migration are highlighted. Furthermore, the processes influencing the formation of the social policy of the host countries are described. Particular attention is paid to social and labour rights of legal migrants.
