Psychological study of gender concepts among students

Vol. Abstract
This article presents an empirical analysis of students’ perception of implicit gender concepts: man and woman, husband and wife, father and mother. Analysis is given to the relationship between ideal images and self-esteem among girls and boys, as well as expectations and claims of sex-role behavior in family. It is revealed that traditional gender stereotypes are seriously transformed within implicit gender concepts among students. Their strong emphasis on contradiction and feminization of male images must be considered in psychological counseling on gender issues.
