Psychological study of professional preferences of high school students

Abstract

The article presents the results of psychological research of professional preferences of high school students. Features of professional self-determination and professional preferences of high school students are considered. The main criteria for choosing a profession by high school students are established. The attitude of high school students towards the chosen profession and their professional future is studied. The number of high school students with problems in the field of professional self-determination is determined. Professional preferences of high school students are investigatd, namely, preferred areas of professional activity and professional interests. A comparative analysis of the professional preferences and professional interests of young men and women is carried out. Links between the characteristics of professional preferences of high school students and their problems in the field of professional self-determination are analysed. Links are also established between the features of the professional preferences of high school students and their personal properties, such as value orientations and the level of internality. Conclusions are drawn from the integrated analysis of the data.
