Model of the formation of social competence of graduates of boarding schools
Abstract
The article examines the process of preparing graduates of boarding schools for an independent life. The concept of “Social competence of graduates of boarding schools” is highlighted and analyzed. The analysis of models of social work with graduates of boarding schools is presented. The article presents the results of the study aimed at determining the level of social competence of graduates. The analysis of the completed questionnaires with graduates and expert interviews with specialists from social services is presented. The expert interview was analyzed in two highlighted areas: the study of activities and the expert opinion of specialists on the process of preparing graduates for an independent life. The study involved 26 people, of whom 20 are graduates, 6 specialists providing social services to graduates. On the basis of the study, a model of the formation and development of social competences of boarding school graduates is proposed.
It is shown that the model of formation and development of social competence in graduates of residential institutions is based on the model of social interest of A. Adler, as well as on the role model of J. Moreno.
The model of formation and development of social competence in graduates of residential institutions is focused on the formation of social experience and the development of communication potential and the formation of ideas about oneself and others. The implementation of this model involves working on two blocks: socio-psychological and socio-environmental.
The expected results of the model implementation: developed communication skills, expanding self-image, the ability to take responsibility for the decisions, the ability to build strong interpersonal relationships, to get out of the conflict, increased motivation of graduates of residential institutions to seek help from specialists, formation of ideas about the functioning of various social structures, developed interest in socially useful leisure, increased social interest and social experience.
