The article presents information on the creative individuality and fate of Sergei Sergeievich Korsakov. The role of S.S. Korsakov in the development of Russian psychiatry and prevention of mental illness, as well as in carrying out reforms in mental health facilities is shown. The topic of mental health in the works of S.S. Korsakov is revealed.
